Travel Safety Guidelines
Travel to and from Abu Dhabi
No test to fly to Abu Dhabi if you’re fully vaccinated
As of 26 February 2022, you no longer need a test before you fly to Abu Dhabi if you are fully vaccinated.
If you are not fully vaccinated, you must present a negative PCR test result taken within 48 hours, or a COVID-19 recovery certificate. Your recovery certificate must be dated within 30 days of departure and have a QR code. Children under 12 are exempt.
It is now no longer mandatory to take a PCR test upon arrival in Abu Dhabi International Airport. However, the testing facility remains at the airport for any visitors that wish to take a PCR test to activate their Green Pass in Al Hosn app and facilitate access to Abu Dhabi’s public places and tourist attractions. The cost of this PCR test is AED 40.
There is no need to re-test whilst in Abu Dhabi.
Entry to Public Places
Entry to most public places and attractions in Abu Dhabi is only allowed for those who have ‘Green’ status on the Al Hosn app, which requires following the approved testing requirements:
- Vaccinated travellers must receive a negative PCR test result every 30 days to maintain ‘Green’ status.
- UAE residents need to take a timely vaccine booster shot to maintain 'Green' status on the Al Hosn app. This requirement does NOT apply to tourists.
- Visitors with an official vaccine exemption must receive a negative PCR test result every 7 days to maintain ‘Green’ status.
- Anyone who is unvaccinated must take a PCR test every 48 hours to maintain 'Green' status on the Al Hosn app.
- Children aged under 12 years automatically receive ‘Green’ status without the need to be vaccinated or to take a PCR test.
- Children aged 12 to 15 years do not need to be vaccinated but do need to take a PCR test to receive 'Green' status on the Al Hosn app.
- Individuals without the Al Hosn app can alternatively access public places by presenting proof of full vaccination - via either a full vaccination certificate from their home country or by showing full vaccination status in their home country mobile app - as well as a negative PCR test result within the last 30 days.
