Congress Theme

’Making every move count’

The theme of the 9th ISPAH congress is ‘making every move count’ to provide a global forum to build on the central message of the latest Global Guidelines on physical activity and sedentary behaviour 2020.
Through symposia and parallel sessions, as well as four plenary keynotes, ISPAH 2022 congress will address the four main policy objectives outlined in the WHO Global Action Plan for Physical Activity 2018-2030 (GAPPA). Applicable to all countries, no matter the current status of their national agenda on physical activity, GAPPA provides a framework for effective and feasible policy actions to increase physical activity for all people, everywhere.

Insight, Knowledge and Sharing

The 2022 congress will offer opportunities for insightful discussions on the science, policy and practice related to each of the four policy areas. It will facilitate the sharing of knowledge and insights from across all continents, to inform how active societies, active environments, active people and active systems can be created through the implementation of the 20 policy recommendations outlined in GAPPA.
This year the ISPAH congress will also provide a timely opportunity for delegates to consider the findings from the (soon to be released) 1st WHO Global Status Report on Physical Activity 2022 that will provide the latest data on national implementation of GAPPA policy recommendations.
